Upper Back Spasms

Upper Back Spasms: "Muscle contractions are common and normal muscle contractions happen when the brain and the nervous system works well together. Certain mechanisms happen within the brain and the central nervous system and these mechanisms are related with the regulation of the muscles and their contractions. When these mechanisms are interrupted or when they are affected, the regulation of these muscles and the contractions is also affected. Spasms are the involuntary muscle contractions and a result of such interrupted mechanisms. As the back supports most of the weight of the body, these involuntary contractions can be expected. Other than this, upper back spasms are triggered by sneeze or by a big bout of cough, overuse of muscles, dehydration and mostly due to incorrect posture. Heavy lifting can also be one of the reasons of these upper back spasms. A serious injury to the back and muscle cramps are the lesser known reasons for spasms in the upper back.
